Technology
The CAD/RMS system allows the Telecommunicators to enter all requests for public safety assistance. Once an incident is entered in the CAD/RMS system the system sends the request to the correct Telecommunicator for dispatch to the appropriate responding agency and units. The CAD system also tracks the status of available units and provides the Telecommunicator with recommendations for a responding unit and level of response. The CAD/RMS system has address advisories to provide warnings to patrol units and emergency contact information for businesses and some residential buildings. The CAD/RMS system provides access to business information such as emergency contacts, business hours, on-site hazards and on-site phone numbers.
