On September 20, 2018 at approximately 12:04 p.m. Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a single motorcycle crash on Highway 75 near milepost 97 approximately ¼ mile south of Timmerman in Bellevue, Idaho.
George J. Benfit, age 43 of Fullerton, California, was traveling south when he lost control of a 2016 Triumph Tiger motorcycle as he attempted to pass a slower moving vehicle. Benfit who was wearing a helmet and protective riding clothing was thrown ahead of the motorcycle and received injuries. He was transported by ground ambulance to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center. The northbound lane was closed for approximately one hour. No citations have been issued.
